Next we will discuss about the kinds of popular home water purifier. If you are worried about your health and you are out for changing your drinking habits, know about the various water purifiers available with variable technologies.

  • Ultraviolet purification
  • Ion exchange
  • Distillation
  • Electro deionization
  • Reverse Osmosis

Ultraviolet water purification is the latest and most accepted technology for purifying drinking water. This is because unlike other water purification methods UV purification does not change the chemical structure of the water. The odor, taste and flavor nothing changes just the water is free from impurities. This technology ensures the presence of essential minerals inside the water.

Reverse osmosis technology is a purification process which uses a semi permeable membrane. Water is forced to pass through this membrane. With this technology water gets free from all kinds of impure elements including the essential minerals. This technology cannot identify what is essential and what is harmful and hence it checks out all elements inside water making it pure but tasteless.

Ion exchange is another method of water purification where water filtrates through a bead like resin called ion exchange resins. In this technology the water ions are exchanged because of the presence of fixed ions over the beads. There are two methods of ion exchange purification, deionization and softening.

Distillation is the traditional method of water purification. In this process water is first boiled turning it to vapor. This water vapor rises to reach the condenser and then it is cooled down so that it turns to water. This process distills water completely leaving zero impurities behind water.
